Thebes
City founded by Cadmus on dragon's teeth, cursed by blood and pride.
Thebes was founded by the Phoenician prince Cadmus, who sowed dragon teeth into the earth and watched warriors spring up to build its walls. It became a city destined for tragedy, birthplace of Heracles, Oedipus, and Dionysus, site of terrible crimes and divine punishment. The Seven Against Thebes and the fate of Oedipus's children made it the most tragic city in Greek myth.
