Oedipus

A man flees a prophecy straight into its arms, and his search for truth destroys him.

Oedipus

Abandoned at birth to escape a terrible oracle, Oedipus unknowingly fulfills it, killing his father at a crossroads and winning Thebes, and his own mother, by answering the Sphinx. When his relentless pursuit of the truth lays the horror bare, he blinds himself and goes into exile. The curse narrows onto his children, ending in war between brothers and the defiance of Antigone.
