Tiresias is the great seer of Thebes, struck blind by a goddess yet granted prophecy that endures for seven generations. Having lived years as a woman after striking mating serpents, he settles a quarrel of the gods over love. Even in death his spirit keeps its wisdom, and Odysseus journeys to the Underworld to hear him foretell the way home.
