Antigone is the loyal daughter of Oedipus, who guides her blind father into exile and stays beside him to the end. When her brothers kill each other warring over Thebes, she defies King Creon's edict to bury the one branded a traitor. Condemned for honoring the gods' law over the king's, she is sealed in a tomb alive, where she takes her own life.
