Nephthys

Nephthys is the goddess of mourning, daughter of Geb and Nut, sister of Isis, Osiris, and Set, and wife of Set. When Set murders Osiris, Nephthys abandons her husband and joins Isis to search for the scattered body, mourn the dead god, and help restore him to life. The two sisters appear together at the head and foot of the bier and on coffins as winged protectors of the dead, and Nephthys guards the canopic jar of Hapi with the other tutelary goddesses. In some traditions she is mother of Anubis. Standing at every threshold, she is the divine keener whose grief safeguards the journey through death.
