Typhon is the most monstrous of all, a towering creature born of Gaia and Tartarus, with a hundred serpent heads and a voice of roaring beasts. He storms Olympus to overthrow the gods, scattering them in terror, and even tears the sinews from Zeus' body. Zeus recovers and blasts him down with thunderbolts, burying him beneath Mount Etna, where he still breathes fire.
