Echidna is the half-maiden, half-snake who dwells in a cave beneath the earth, mate to the storm-giant Typhon. From her womb come the deadliest beasts of myth: Cerberus, the Hydra, the Chimera, the Nemean Lion, and the Sphinx. Ageless and deathless, she preys on passing travelers, the mother of monsters that heroes are born to slay.
