Orthrus is the twin-headed dog born of Typhon and Echidna, brother to Cerberus. He keeps watch over the red cattle of Geryon on the island of Erytheia. When Heracles comes for the herd as his tenth Labor, a single blow of the hero's club lays the beast dead.
