Tyr

Tyr is the one-handed god of law, oaths, and just war, his name surviving in Tuesday. When the gods bind the wolf Fenrir with the ribbon Gleipnir, the suspicious beast demands a pledge of good faith: a hand in his jaws. Only Tyr steps forward, laying his right hand between those teeth. The wolf cannot break free, and Tyr loses the hand at the wrist, paying with his own flesh for the binding. He governs the assembly and the sworn contract, and at Ragnarok he fights and falls against the hound Garmr.
