Gleipnir
The silken ribbon forged from impossible ingredients that holds the mighty wolf Fenrir bound until the coming of Ragnarok.
Gleipnir is the fetter that binds the wolf Fenrir. After he burst the iron chains Leyding and Dromi, Odin sent Freyr's messenger Skirnir to the dwarves of Svartalfheim, who made it from six things: the sound of a cat's footfall, a woman's beard, a mountain's roots, a bear's sinews, a fish's breath and a bird's spittle. The Prose Edda says that is why none of them exist any more. It was smooth and soft as a silken ribbon, so Fenrir suspected a trick and demanded a pledge: Tyr put his hand in the wolf's mouth and lost it. Fenrir stays bound until Ragnarok.
