Pasiphae is the wife of King Minos and daughter of the sun, cursed by Poseidon with desire for a magnificent white bull her husband refused to sacrifice. With a hollow wooden cow built by Daedalus, she conceives the Minotaur, half-man and half-bull. Minos hides her monstrous son away in the Labyrinth.
