Minos is the powerful king of Crete, son of Zeus and Europa, who rules the seas and exacts a tribute of Athenian youths to feed the Minotaur in Daedalus' Labyrinth. When the craftsman aids his enemies, Minos pursues him across the world to his death. So just a ruler in life, he becomes a judge of the dead in the Underworld.
