Helenus is a son of Priam and twin to the doomed prophetess Cassandra, gifted like her with the power of prophecy. Captured by the Greeks, he reveals the conditions under which Troy is fated to fall: the bow of Heracles, the bones of Pelops, and Achilles' son must all be brought to the war. He survives the city's destruction and later rules in Epirus, where he counsels the wandering Aeneas.
