Characters
Brokk · Freya · Loki · Sindri · Thor · Thrym

Mjolnir is the hammer of Thor, forged by the dwarf brothers Sindri and Brokk after Loki bet his head that they could not match the sons of Ivaldi. Loki, as a fly, stung Brokk's eyelid, so the handle came out short. Snorri says it strikes as hard as Thor wishes, never misses, returns to his hand when thrown and shrinks to fit inside his shirt. Three of its blows, aimed at the giant Skrymir, carved three valleys into a mountain. It hallows weddings and funeral pyres. In Thrymskvida the giant Thrym steals it and demands Freya as ransom, and after Ragnarok it passes to Thor's sons Modi and Magni.
