Thrym

Thrym is the giant king who steals Thor's hammer Mjolnir and buries it eight leagues deep, demanding the goddess Freyja as his bride in ransom. When Freyja furiously refuses, Heimdall proposes that Thor go in her place, dressed in a bridal veil and gown with Loki as his maid, and the pair are carried to Jotunheim. Thrym marvels as his bride devours a whole ox and eight salmon and drains three casks of mead, but Loki explains away every suspicion. The moment the hammer is laid in the bride's lap to bless the wedding, Thor seizes it and slaughters Thrym and all his kin, as told in the Thrymskvida.
