Nidavellir
The realm of the dwarves deep within the earth, where the greatest craftsmen in all of creation labor beneath the stone.
Nidavellir, the dark fields, is known as the realm of the dwarves, the finest craftsmen in creation, who work deep beneath the stone. The name appears only once in the old poems: Völuspá says that in the north, on Nidavellir, stands a hall of gold belonging to Sindri's kin. Because Sindri is also the name of the dwarf who forged Mjolnir and Draupnir with his brother Brokk, the place came to be read as the home of their people. The dwarves who appear across the myths, from Dvalin and the wise Alviss to Andvari and Kvasir's murderers, Fjalar and Galar, belong to that underground world.
