Galar

Galar is a dwarf, brother of Fjalar and co-maker of the Mead of Poetry. Together they murder Kvasir, the wisest of beings, and brew his blood with honey in the vats Son and Bodn and the kettle Odrerir to make a mead that grants poetry to whoever tastes it. The brothers then drown the giant Gilling at sea and drop a millstone on his grieving wife. Gilling's son Suttung seizes them, strands them on a tidal skerry, and spares their lives only when they yield the mead in ransom, sending it on its long road toward Odin and the gods.
