Tethys is the Titaness of the sea's nourishing waters, wife and sister of Ocean. From their union flow all the world's rivers and the three thousand Oceanid nymphs of springs and streams. She fosters Hera in her halls at the edge of the world and turns the stars from her waters in her wrath.
