Tefnut

Tefnut is the goddess of moisture, born with her brother Shu, dryness, from the creator Atum at the dawn of the world. Together they are the first divine pair, parents of Geb the earth and Nut the sky, the elder generation from which the gods descend. A lioness or lion-headed woman, she also serves as an Eye of Ra. In one myth she quarrels and flees in fury to Nubia as a raging lioness, and the land suffers for her absence until Thoth coaxes her home, her return restoring the order and waters Egypt needs.
