Skadi

Skadi is a jotun huntress of the high snows, daughter of Thiazi, who straps on skis and bow and storms armed into Asgard demanding blood-price after the gods kill her father. Granted recompense, she is allowed to choose a husband by his feet alone; hoping for beautiful Baldr, she picks the fairest feet and gets Njord, god of the sea. She also demands the gods make her laugh, which Loki achieves by tying his beard to a goat's. Her marriage fails because she loves the howling mountains while Njord pines for the shore, so they part and she returns to her wolves and slopes.
