Characters
Freya · Idun · Loki · Odin · Skadi · Thiazi · Thor

Idunn's golden apples are the fruit that keeps the gods young. The goddess Idun, also written Idunn, keeps them in her ash-wood box, and the Prose Edda says the gods bite into them whenever they begin to age. In Skáldskaparmál, the giant Thiazi forces Loki to lure Idun out of Asgard with her apples and carries her off to his home, Thrymheim. Without the fruit the gods grow old and grey, so they threaten Loki, who borrows Freya's falcon cloak, turns Idun into a nut and flies her home. Thiazi chases them and dies at Asgard's walls, and his daughter Skadi comes to avenge him.
