Epimetheus is the well-meaning but short-sighted brother of Prometheus, whose name means 'hindsight', he acts first and thinks later. Ignoring his brother's warning never to accept a gift from Zeus, he weds Pandora and so lets loose upon the world the jar of every sorrow. Where Prometheus is foresight, Epimetheus is the regret that follows.
