Bellerophon

He tamed a winged horse and slew a fire-breathing beast, then dared to fly to the gods.

Falsely accused and sent to his death, Bellerophon bridles the winged horse Pegasus and rides him to slay the fire-breathing Chimera. He survives every trap laid for him and wins a kingdom and a princess. But glory swells into hubris, and when he spurs Pegasus toward Olympus itself, he is thrown down to wander the earth broken and alone.
