Bellerophon

Bellerophon is the hero who bridles the winged horse Pegasus with a golden bridle from Athena and rides him to slay the Chimera, a beast part lion, goat, and serpent. Falsely accused and sent on suicidal quests, he survives them all and wins a kingdom. But pride undoes him: he spurs Pegasus toward Olympus itself, and is thrown down to wander broken and alone.
