Peleus is the Argonaut and Calydonian hunter chosen by the gods to marry the silver-footed Nereid Thetis. He must wrestle her through every shape she takes before she yields and becomes his bride. Their wedding draws all Olympus, yet Eris's golden apple sows the strife that will doom their son Achilles.
