Electra is the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, consumed by hatred after her mother and Aegisthus murder her father in his bath. She keeps the memory of his blood alive through years of humiliation, awaiting her exiled brother Orestes. When he returns, she spurs him on to kill their mother and her lover, completing the bloody vengeance of the house of Atreus.
