Aegir

Aegir is the giant of the sea, a brewer whose vast cauldron, won by the gods, produces ale for all the Aesir at once. In his hall on the island of Hlesey, lit by glowing gold instead of fire, he throws the feast of the gods where Loki crashes the party and hurls insults at every deity present in the Lokasenna. With his wife Ran, who drags drowning sailors down in her net, he fathers nine daughters, the waves of the sea. He embodies the ocean's twin face: generous host and devourer of ships.
