Calydonian Boar
A slighted goddess looses a monstrous boar, and the hunt becomes a feud that devours a family.

When King Oeneus forgets her in his offerings, Artemis sends a giant boar to ravage Calydon, drawing the heroes of Greece to the great hunt. The prince Meleager kills the beast and awards its hide to the huntress Atalanta, then slays his own uncles in the quarrel that erupts. His enraged mother burns the brand bound to his life, and he dies as it turns to ash.
