Selene is the radiant Moon, who rides her silver chariot across the night sky as her brother Helios sleeps. Crowned with a crescent and trailing a soft glow, she is best remembered for her love of the shepherd Endymion, granted eternal sleep so she might visit his unchanging beauty night after night.
