Nun

Nun is the formless primordial ocean that existed before creation, the dark, boundless waters out of which everything emerged. He is the eldest of the gods, father of Ra, and head of the Hermopolitan Ogdoad alongside his counterpart Naunet. From his depths rose the first mound of land and the first sunrise. Nun is not a god of deeds but of origin: he persists at the edges of the ordered world, beneath the earth and beyond the sky, and Egyptians believed all things would one day return to his waters. He is depicted lifting the solar barque aloft at the moment of creation.
