Mut

Mut is the great mother goddess of Thebes, queen of the gods and consort of Amun, with whom she forms the Theban triad alongside their son Khonsu. Her name means "mother," and she was spiritual mother to the reigning pharaoh. She is shown as a woman wearing the double crown and a vulture headdress, but she also takes lioness form, merging with fierce goddesses like Sekhmet. Her vast temple precinct at Karnak, with its crescent sacred lake the Isheru, hosted festivals where her statue traveled to join Amun. She unites tender nurture with lioness wrath.
