Visited by Zeus disguised as a swan on the banks of the Eurotas, she bore children of extraordinary fate, among them Helen, whose face launched a thousand ships, and the Dioscuri, Castor and Polydeuces. The question of which children were divine and which mortal shadowed their entire lives and became inseparable from the destiny of Troy.
