Hu

Hu is the divine personification of authoritative utterance, the creative word spoken with the power to make things real. The Egyptians said he was born from a drop of blood from the sun god Ra. He stands beside Sia, the personification of perception, as one of Ra's two companions who ride in the solar barque: Sia the mind that conceives, Hu the voice that commands it into being. Through him the spoken word of ritual and the names inscribed in tombs carry the force to shape the world.
