Lyre of Orpheus

The lyre of Orpheus was a gift from Apollo, who taught him to play, and its original form was crafted by Hermes from a tortoise shell. In Orpheus's hands, it became something beyond music, a force of nature. Rivers stopped flowing to listen. Wild animals lay down beside him. Trees uprooted themselves to draw closer. When he descended to the Underworld to reclaim Eurydice, even Hades and Persephone wept and agreed.
