Ixion

Bound forever to a spinning wheel of fire

Mythology
Greek mythology
Group
Mortal

Ixion is a Thessalian king and the first mortal to murder kin, then is purified by Zeus and welcomed to Olympus, where he repays the kindness by lusting after Hera. Zeus shapes a cloud into her likeness, Nephele, and upon it Ixion fathers the race of Centaurs. For his impiety he is bound to a fiery, ever-turning wheel, spinning through the depths of Tartarus for eternity.
