Hrym is the frost giant who captains Naglfar at Ragnarok, the dread ship built from the untrimmed nails of the dead. When the bonds of the world break and the seas rise, the Voluspa shows him driving forward from the east, shield raised before him, leading the giant host across the waters toward the final field of Vigrid. He brings the armies of frost and chaos to the slaughter where gods and monsters fall together. He is no schemer like Loki, only the grim helmsman steering the apocalypse to its appointed shore.
