The Colchian Dragon is the ever-watchful serpent that guards the Golden Fleece in the sacred grove of Ares, a beast that never sleeps. When Jason and the Argonauts come for the Fleece, the sorceress Medea lulls the dragon with drugged incantations and the music of her spells. While its unblinking eyes finally close, Jason slips past and carries off the prize.
