Rind

Rind is the goddess or giantess fated to bear Vali, the avenger of Baldr. When Baldr is slain and Frigg's grief demands vengeance, Odin learns from a seeress that Rind must mother his son. She rebuffs his courtship again and again, and in Saxo's telling Odin resorts to disguise and dark magic to overcome her resistance. From their union comes Vali, who grows to manhood in a single day and, neither washing nor combing his hair, kills the blind Hod to repay Baldr's death.
