Pakhet

Pakhet, "She Who Scratches," is a lioness goddess of the eastern desert and its dry wadis, where she hunts at night and tears apart those who threaten her own. Her great rock-cut temple near Beni Hasan, the Speos Artemidos, was carved under Hatshepsut, and the Greeks later linked her to Artemis the huntress. A fierce protector, she is invoked by desert travelers and expeditions crossing her pitiless terrain, a guardian of the lonely valleys between the cultivated land and the wild.
