Ihy

Ihy is the divine child of music and joy, son of Hathor and Horus, born at the great temple of Dendera. He is shown as a naked boy with the sidelock of youth, a finger to his lips, shaking the sistrum, the sacred rattle of his mother's cult. His name carries the sense of the music the sistrum makes, and he personifies the ecstasy of its sound. In the temple rites he leads the jubilation, and in the funerary texts the dead hope to become Ihy, to drink milk and rejoice in his mother's presence.
