Skidbladnir

Norse mythology

Skidbladnir

The magical longship gifted to Freyr, large enough to carry all the gods yet foldable to fit inside a pouch when not in use.

Characters
Freyr · Loki

Skidbladnir is the ship of Freyr, the best of all ships according to Grímnismál. Snorri tells that the dwarves known as the sons of Ivaldi built it, along with Odin's spear Gungnir, when Loki asked them for new golden hair for Sif. Loki gave the ship to Freyr, and these gifts were then judged against the treasures of Brokk and Sindri. Skidbladnir is big enough to carry all the gods with their weapons, it finds a fair wind as soon as its sail is raised, and when it is not at sea it folds up like a cloth and fits in a pouch.
