Caduceus
The staff of Hermes, twin serpents entwined around a winged rod, herald of the gods.
The caduceus was the herald's staff of Hermes, god of messengers, thieves, and travelers. Originally a simple rod given to him by Apollo in exchange for the lyre, it later gained its twin serpents when Hermes used it to separate two fighting snakes. Whoever he touched with the caduceus would fall into peaceful sleep or be awakened, it was also used to guide souls to the Underworld.
