Eurus is the god of the east or southeast wind, counted among the Anemoi, sons of the dawn-bringer Astraeus and Eos. Unlike his brothers Boreas and Zephyrus, he has no fixed seasonal place, and sailors curse him as the bringer of warmth, rain, and ill fortune. He blows in from the rising sun, scattering ships before his gusts.
