The Erymanthian Boar is a colossal wild beast that ravages the slopes of Mount Erymanthus. For his fourth Labor, Heracles must bring it back alive, so he chases it into deep snow, exhausts it, and binds it in chains. When he hauls the snarling boar before King Eurystheus, the terrified king hides in a great bronze jar half-buried in the ground.
